replacing front sight

Has anyone replaced a front sight on a fixed sight revolver? I saw a used stainless SW Model 10 (?) and the front sight was damaged. I supposed it could be fixed but if not can a new one be fitted? I saw it at a pawn shop and thinking of making an offer (they want 360.00) if I can find someone to fix/replace the sight. I'm wondering if a blued front sight can be installed, would be better to see.

That front sight can be replaced however, IMO, it's not a DIY project. Find a good gunsmith to do the work.

If you need the best gunsmith I've ever known, try:

This guy makes the most beautiful handguns from a block of cold steel that I've ever handled.

Any decent gunsmith can replace the front sight. I'd get an idea for cost of the sight and installation before I bought the gun, personally. Make certain that it's going to be cost-effective.
