front rest

My Dad has one and we are both very happy with it. We mainly do backyard BR,no matches as yet), but have found it to be solid and the windage top moves very smoothly. Plenty of vertical and horizontal movement for us,again we are not shooting competitively so I can't speak to match conditions).
I would be picking one up myself if the funds were available.

I agree with Lynn. I sent an e-mail to Sinclair in regard to making a "1000" yard type rest upgrade. Bigger diameter post etc.
The person who replied to me stated "I don't know why they don't do something for you guys",referring to long range shooters with heavier rifles).

So how about this, everybody who reads this post take just a minute to send Sinclair an e-mail. If they hear it enough from all of us perhaps they'll consider doing something.

Frank, you don't mention what your intentions are with the rest. In my opinion the Sinclair rest with a windage top is an excellent piece of equipment and I see lots of them in use in competition. I do not believe that the "arc" of the windage top is enough to put any kind of pull on a rifle but there is some discussion of what it does with the guys who have the bags cranked tightly against their rifles.

If you have any inclination toward competitive shooting, especially benchrest for score, I would highly recommend you forego the Sinclair type of rest and get one of the so-called "joystick" rests now being made. They are a quantum leap ahead of the bag squeezing and windage tops.

Good luck, Reed
