With it being a Savage, why not try a prefit from Northland Shooters Supply (Criterion or Shilen)? I'm close to Bethesda and would be happy to walk him through swapping barrels. PM me with his contact information and I'll give him a call.

Throat length matters, reamer options are very limited. Trying to shoot 70g bullets in a 105g Throat is a non starter.
