Friday cool down, got hot

Had a long week of work, so decided to hit a dog town on Friday. Two of us shot 800 rounds total in 4 hrs from 10:30-2:30. Sun was out, wind less than 10 mph. Lots of pups so we had a good time with 17hmr, 17wsm, and 20VT. Never had to shoot past 200 yds if you didn’t want to. Fantastic way to end a week!

Sounds like you had a great time and got in a lot of shooting.

Have a bench like that. I used it one day as it came from the box. A shooter did not design this. The black vinyl/naugahyde gets hot and stays hot. I tore it all off and covered it with a light gray indoor out door carpet.

The plywood top was terrible, it was the cheapest crap they could find I am sure. Delaminated, large voids etc, I had a gallon of glue I wondered what was ever going to do with it. It is now almost a piece of resin. I didn’t have a large enough piece of plywood to make a new top at the time. Hindsight I should have just taken the time and made a new top.

I agree the black top sucks in the sun, but otherwise I am very happy with it. Ours don’t have plywood under; it is steel mesh
