Freshly chambered and installed Kreiger Barrel extraction problems

Recently I had a new Kreiger barrel chambered and installed one of my precision rifles. 6 Dasher, 700 Remington action trued with a bushed bolt face. Absolutely would not extract Alfa brass without a rubber mallet. Lapua brass sized with a RCBS body die and A Bullets die would extract, but a sticky effort that would disturb the position on the rest. Lapua brass just sized with the Bullets die had to be tapped out with a plastic mallet. There are circular scratches on the fired Lapua brass. The new Lapua brass I was fire forming had no scratches and extracted and ejected with two fingers. Thinking my chamber needs some sort of polishing. Any suggestions. Thanks

Sounds like you're putting previously fired brass in a new barrel. The old chamber was probably a hair larger and the die isn't resizing the base enough. Resizing them once with a small base die will probably fix the issue.

Not if the new Lapua extracted easily.

The reamers have a +/- dimension. I have a 6BR and a 6BRX. You would think a case fired in the 6BR would chamber in my 6BRX but they don't. It's supposed to be the same body just the shoulder pushed forward. I had to hammer a fired empty 6BR out of my 6BRX. A new Lapua 6BR case easily chambers in my 6BRX. Kelbly told me it was because the chamber reamers are not all the same, even if they are within SAAMI spec. Lookup the +/- on the SAAMI drawing. Someone on this site said that you can have a reamer resharpened reducing the dimensions.

When you have a reamer sharpened it is set back maintaining the diameter. Two smith's can use the same reamer but that doesn't mean brass is interchangeable. YMMV

I have a friend who just recently acquired a high end custom action and rifle built in 6 dasher. His Lapua brass would extract easily but Alpha brass would not. There were scratch marks on the cases as well. He contacted the rifle maker who then discussed the issue with the reamer maker; they came to the conclusion that the issue was the Alpha brass, and supposedly Alpha is now aware of this problem and is providing something to the rifle maker to ?re-ream the chamber to accomodate the Alpha brass diameter.

I'll be dipped in *poo* if I'd ream a chamber to fit a particular brand of brass.
