FREEDOM BENCHREST 1ST SANCTION MATCH

Just curious:

If anyone successfully went back to the sighter after commencing their record shots?

If you did please chime in or maybe there was some post relay discussion anyone could elaborate on.

Yes I do shoot one last shot to my slighter plate after my record shots just to see if it goes in the same spot.

Often if conditions change.

Now I did not shoot well this past Saturday and did not attend on Sunday but in earlier Freedom Benchrest shoots, went back to the sighter. One time the wind picked up after two target shots and did not stop. Played with the sighter for a couple shots to figure out the impact change from the wind. Then back to the target and was very successful.

Shooters like Anderson like to wait out conditions. They take their time holding off for the same conditions. If that does not happen, go back to the sighter, find the impact point change and then do the rest of your score shots.

This is the single rule that, to me, makes Freedom Benchrest so desirable. Add in the penalties without any DQ, the faster relay times and Freedom Benchrest is the best.

I have been very surprised by this but very pleased as well! I want to thank everybody at Manatee as well as Dave Matthews and Jim Bauer and especially Al and Bob for running such excellent matches. I’ve learned a great deal from so many people at MGAC that I can’t thank them enough! Best regards to all!
