freebore for berger 105vld and 108bt?

I've got a 1x8 twist McGowen in 6BR with a .06 freebore, and just got a uni-throater from PTG so I can shoot the heavier bullets. I want to be able to use both of these bullets if I can, but I'm afraid if I set it up for the 108s that the 105s will be seated too far out. Is there a compromise here, or should I start with the 105s to see if they will shoot and then open it up for the 108s if the 105s want shoot? My thinking is that I can always take more out, but I can't put it back in.

Bill, the 6mmBR Norma spec is 0.098" freebore as I recall and it works well for both the 105 and the 108,and all other bullets int hat weight range).

I throated my 6BR for 108's and I can still Jamb 105 VLD's. Granted there's only about 1/2 the bullet in the neck. 95's shoot well in it to. When I do it again I will chamber for 105's and go to 108's latter in the barrel's life.

If you 6BR doesn't shoot 105's with a bread and butter load, it will be a rarity.

Thanks for the help. I'm going to cut my freebore over the weekend with the PTG uni-throater. Shooting for something in the .09 to .104 range based on the feedback I've gotten. Loading some dummy rounds tonight with both the 105s and 108s. I'm going to set it up for the 105s originally about .07 up from the shouldner/neck junction, and then see how far off I am with the 108s.
