Free bore for 230 Hybrids in .300WSM

I'm looking to spec up a reamer for a .300WSM to shoot 230 Hybrids.
Could someone please give me an idea of the freebore to place the bearing area above the neck shoulder junction. I suspect due to the length of the bullet a free bore around .270" would be required.
Thanks
David.

I recently built a 7RSAUM to shoot 180 Hybrids. I called Dave at PT&G, told him what bullet I wanted to shoot and he spec'd out and built what I needed. All I can say is that my gun shoots "lights out". When I get ready to have another reamer built, I will let Dave build it also.

Just my 2 cents. Jim

.270" should work fine. If you jump more than .020" from touching, watch closely for any doughnut interference, you will be getting close.

Will bullets that long cycle in the typical magazine for 300WSM?

I would also like to build a gun with this bullet in mind.

They will if you seat them very deep. I haven't looked at it, but the ogive rear may even be below the case mouth, not a desirable situation. The best bet would be to use a long action that will allow appropriate seating. SAAMI lists the maximum COAL as 2.860". A long action and magazine should allow seating up to 3.340", more than enough.
