Found a decent .224 Wby Mag load

mensajd

Quod Erat Demonstrandum
52 gr. Berger flat base target bullet
32.5 gr. IMR 4064
Wby brass
CCI BR2 primer

5 consecutive shots at 100 yds from a blued steel and claro walnut Wby Mark V Varmintmaster (circa 1983) with the tiny 6-lug action. Not bad for a ~8.5 lb (including fixed Leupold 12x scope) Mark V sporter with a pencil thin #1 contour barrel. Varmints beware!

Since I put together my Rem. 788 with the 9-lug, 60 degree bolt lift action I've been interested in that Weatherby action and sort of keeping my eyes open for one.

I had one of those probably 25-30 years ago. Also had a 22-250 in that gun. The .224 shot better than the 250. I was gunshowing then and pretty mush everything had a price tag on it. Made a little money and got to shoot a bunch of good guns
