Forum upgrade: Odds and Ends

Kudos to Boss and team. The initial slowness and weirdness have largely subsided, although things still seem better on my Android smart phone than on legacy PC browsers.

Questions:

I can edit my "signature" (it survived the upgrade!) but I do not see it under my posts, and I find no control to enable/disable displaying it. Which rock have I not yet peeked under?

Forum Boss: With the XF 2.2 change, signatures do NOT display by default, but are set by individual preferences. So a registered member can decide if he or she want to see signatures. You set this in your account preferences. SEE:



Also, I am still "watching" many threads, but do not always receive notifications of new posts. Edit: Ok, there seems to be long delays of some notifications. Still, is there a control for notifications, or can it only be set when you add a post to the thread?

Forum Boss: Look at the above for some more options. I strongly suggest members do NOT receive email notifications, unless they are actively running classifieds, and its probably easier to simply WATCH those threads you start.

Top of thread, "Unwatch" or "Watch" depending on current status.

I was having trouble uploading photos I found out how to make them smaller that problem is solved but the rotate icon is not working for me I cannot rotate my photos and for some reason when I uploaded It turns them on their side.

Forum Boss: Don't quite understand your problem. Whenever possible you should put the photo in the correct orientation BEFORE you upload. You can do this fix with the edit function, even on phones.

If you can be more specific, please send a PM describing your problem.

If you click the photo icon (left of smiley face) you can drag a photo into a message.

DT -- The ability to ignore a thread does not exist currently with this upgrade. As I already explained.

This requires an add-on to the Forum software which we have not implemented yet. The reason is that we are still trying to diagnose error logs. Each new add-on can cause incompatibilities with more important functions. The ignore thread software from before does not work with the newer update.

Since we went live, you are the only person to ask about this function.

If you want to ignore a thread, just don't click on it. OK?

We are trying to proceed with minimal add-ons.

I for one appreciate the upgrade. I have nothing but praise for the new site software. I appreciate all y’all do, and it now a secure site. Keep up the great work.
