The Software Update Went Smoothly

You can make posts and threads as before.

However, there still may be some conflicts with Add-ons that may affect some features.

Folks, we are planning a major Forum Software update this evening 1/28/2024 after 8:30 pm West Coast Time.

During the update the Forum may slow down, or may become non-functional. The disruption could be a few minutes, or it may take hours if there are complications.

We will run a back-up of all threads and posts prior to launching the upgrade. However, some posts could be lost. If there is a "hitch" in the back-up there could be other lost posts and threads from today.

Suggestions:
1. Do not post on the Forum this evening after 8:30 pm PST until a Completion Notice is posted here.
Hopefully, the upgrade should be complete by morning 1/29/24.

2. If you posted a new advert in the last 48 hours, go in and COPY THE TEXT.
You need to do this in case your thread is lost due to the upgrade.
You can copy the text of your listing into a word processing program, or, from a Cell phone you can email the advert text to yourself or paste the text into a Notes program.

3. Please do NOT start a "What's Going On Here?" thread. Please do not send urgent messages to Forum Boss. We have a job to do. Understand that the site may be down for a while.

Additionally, this site uses a number of third party "Add-ons" which are software modules. These help with searches, security, file storage, and other forum features. Unfortunately we won't know if all the Add-ons function properly until we do the main software update -- it could be seamless, or we could have major incompatibilities that could affect the Forum for days or even weeks. This cannot be predicted with any certainty.

Again I request that members just sit back. We know there may be issues. We have consultants to whom we can turn.
