50,000+ Members in AccurateShooter.com Forum
We are proud to announce that this Forum reached 50,000 members this weekend. To mark this milestone, we are working on some special offers for our Gold and Silver members. We hope to have these in place by May 1, 2020. Gold and Silver Members will be notified by Forum message and email. We are looking to provide some great deals on stocks, barrels, and reloading hardware.

BIG THANK-YOU to our 50,000+ MEMBERS
People come to this Forum because they find valuable information and thoughtful advice offered by knowledgeable shooters and gunsmiths. Our strength is our membership. I want to thank all the great members we have -- particularly those who share their knowledge and skills with guys and gals just getting started in the shooting sports.

Importance of Member Upgrades
While membership has grown substantially over the last three years, so have our expenses. And now we are preparing to do a major software upgrade. This is vitally important for software stability and security. The upgrade will be very costly. In addition, ongoing maintenance costs have risen dramatically because Forum software has become so complex that only expensive experts can do the software work and run the updates. (Much of this expensive work is required because Google and other companies are constantly changing their browser software).
For this reason, user donations are more important than ever. Right now only about 3.3% of our members have upgraded to Silver or Gold Status. We really need to get that number up to 10% to fund the expert software engineers and high-capacity servers that will keep the Forum efficient, reliable, speedy, and safe.
Moderation and Site Discipline Will Intensify
As the Forum grows, so do the challenges of maintaining discipline, preventing online fights, and blocking improper content. As a result you will see changes in moderation. First, when a thread goes south, trolls and hostile posters will be immediately blocked from the thread. Second, when there are serious issues requiring Admin intervention, the "bad actors" will be banned from the site. There will be no discussion, no "appeal".
If you want to cause issues or you enjoy insulting others ... this is NOT the Forum for you. With 50,000 members, any one member is just .002 % of the total. It is better for me to immediately BAN bad members than even waste 10 minutes on them.
All members need to ALWAYS be respectful to other members. If you have an issue with another member, use the notice button to alert Admins. NEVER engage in a post/counterpost insult exchange.
Staffing Opportunities for AccurateShooter.com
I have been running AccurateShooter.com (and the original 6mmbr.com site) since 2004. During those 16 years, I have dedicated over 40,000 man-hours to the site. I currently put in over 3,000 hours per year running the Forum and writing articles for the Bulletin and the main site. The time commitment is GROWING because of the duties of background checking on new members and demands for more field testing. For this reason we need to bring in more help. We are looking for a Sunday GunDay Feature Articles Editor for the Bulletin, and we are also looking for a Forum Assistant Admin with Xenforo experience.
