Forum prices vs reality?

I notice when reading around on 6br.com much of the gear shows prices... Is it all just not up to date?

For example under bullet reviews is shows a box of berger bullets for $21.99 or so...

I pay $40-45 a box of bullets everywhere i go...

However on a side not i am order bullets bulk now... way way cheaper...

Many of those articles are not up-to-date. It would require a lot of work to maintain updated prices on all of the gear written about in all those articles. But the lack of new pricing is also what dates that information. Much of the technical discussion is still viable even though dated.

Regards.

We release three new articles in the Bulletin Daily. That's roughly 1000 articles per year. There are over 8000 articles we have released since 2004. We also administer a Forum that now has 34,000 members -- the enrollment of a large University. And we answer 100+ emails a day. All this is handled by one full-time staffer (me) and one volunteer who has a 50+ hr/week full-time tech position elsewhere. To do continual updates of prices etc. we'd probably have to employ 3 full-time staffers just for that task alone.

I wish I could give a better answer, but bottom line... the man-power simply doesn't exist.

Just an idea.... possibly article dates could be added to future articles. Donovan

Forum Boss: All Bulletin Articles carry a "Release Date". But that's a good idea to add dates to the older articles archived on the 6mmBR.com legacy site.

I bought some Bergers on the sale board for $20 a box last fall. Ask Snert! He missed them by 2 minutes.;)

I would hope that most guys are savvy enough to know "market prices" vary due to time and vendor. I've seen prices for bullets on the sale board that were higher than current Powder Valley pricing. All the sources vary in price, sometimes a lot. I bought an older used Tikka last spring for $700. I just bought a new one for $500 from Eurooptic's sale. I ALWAYS do a price search before I buy anything. Updating old postings in the Bulletin would be too much work, anyway.

As for Berger, they have their MSRP listed for every bullet they manufacture listed in their online store.
I would suggest that the DB articles no longer provide pricing info. A date the article was published is also a very good idea.
