Sometimes something very, very special comes together just as you had imagined (and hoped for). For me, this "special something" is my new Light Gun -- a project three years in the making.

Great Components from Great Guys
This beauty was made possible by some very good "Friends of the site". The Viper drop-port action came from Jerry Stiller. The 1:8"-twist Brux Barrel was donated by Robert Whitley. Chambering and barrel-fitting were done by Mike Davis as a service to the site. Dave Manson provided the 6mm BRDX reamer. And the stunning figured Walnut and Maple laminated stock came from Ray Bowman of Precision Rifle & Tool, who also bedded and finished the stock. This walnut was a premium blank Ray had been saving for his own use, but he donated it for this project. Ray even did a special modification to the design of PR&T's benchrest stock, using, as the template, a blank I re-carved myself. I wanted the stock to conform better to my shooting hand than an ambidextrous stock, so the wrist/grip area was left full on the left, but carved out on the right and over the comb, so the hand indexes with thumb right behind the bolt.

I haven't even touched the gun yet... we have to do all the FFL stuff first and get the gun to California. But rest assured, we'll see how she shoots and we'll give you a full report on the BRDX as an option. John Whidden will be supplying sizing dies for the project.
