Forster case inspector

Hi all and goo'day

New to this thing, from New Caledonia(Hi Martin in Aus)very glad to be part of this amazing and wonderful bunch or chaps,I have a question about the above equipment refered to;why can't I find any comment or review about it,nobody has it(too bad or too dear)or too good so one doesn't have to mention it?Thanks all, bozo, watch your credit card mate, you'll end up melting it down with such intense use.

I like the hornady better.None of the case/cartridge inspectors are perfect. It is a matter of taste.

Hi Jon
Well, thanks for answering, but is your preference a matter of brand or have you tried both and like the hornady better, and if yes,can you please try and detail? You see, here we have to rely wholly on the tool's brand reputation since we can't find them anywhere in the gunshops(4 all told)we have, and then it's the web, period...I'm not telling you the whole story about how hard it is over here for everything concerning guns, rifles, reloading and accessories,I don't want to make you sad..Have a nice day Jon,thanks again.

Clod,
Welcome to the forum, were you talking about me melting my credit card down? I use P.M.Orders for most purchases, and yes the post master knows me quite well, enjoy my friend (Cheers)
Wayne.

The hornady is rigid and far less a contraption to measure runout. The forster is alittle tricky to get used to in my opinion. The hornady is like a little lathe the way it holds the finished cartridge or even just the case measuring out of roundness,The hornady has a thumbscrew on it to straighten the bullet in the neck.I have a forster and if it wasnt 50.oo to mail it to you,you could have it.I am way up to date on the plight of australins and their crummy gun laws.I feel for all my brothers in that continent. There are other units like sinclairs and rcbs and they all work well, but I really love the hornady. PM me if you want to chat about it.

Hi Wayne

Wow mate,it's surely a thrill to be "talking to you in personal"over this here machine after just reading you on the forum for several months!!!But I'm also a bit disappointed by your not commenting the Forster case inspector, meaning you don't have it,even though you seem to like Forster in general...Well anyway,I haven't received it yet and don't think I'll have any issues with it(I'll keep in touch anyway)just as I don't expect any trouble from the 21st century neck turner, and Forster ultra dies and trimmer all supposed to come in somewhere in November...You see,my credit card has been steaming too of late, but there are so many great tools out there,it's pretty tough to refrain oneself, don't you think?I'll surely address you when the turner comes in since i know you ordered one lately,to sort me out if need be,and I doubt I'll get out of it without "a lttle help from my friends".We'll see, goo'day Wayne and everybody.Well Jon,I just read your post this very instant, thanks mate,I appreciate the offering, great,I'll surely need your help when mine arrives,as to Australia it's nearly paradise compared to New Caledonia concerning gun laws,I'll pm you about it one day just to avoid putting everybody else down with sad stories.Well it's been a pleasure, gentlemen,a thrill should I say, goo'day to both of you and to everyone out there.

Clod,
Thank you I appreciate that and I am glad to have met you as well :) I have no experience with the Forster inspector and I don't recall buying one,..who knows maybe I did :D anyway I don't care for that style, I do own the Hornaday and don't like it at all, it is basically the same principle as the Forster, I prefer the Neco and new style Sinclair, not the old one German shows in his review, Boyd Allen likes the H&H concentricity tool and he like jonbearman are good friends of mine and I believe there opinions to be solid however I disagree with Jon on his choice of tools here, I probably am not using it correctly or something and should contact him and compare notes. I do really like Forster products though, not all of them but the ones I do I really like them, like the dies and the coax press, I don't think much of there trimmer I prefer the Wilson. I have the 21st century neck turner I have not used it enough to have a opinion but I like his other products and I am sure I will like the turner as well, he is a great guy to deal with and talk to. I have a link on concentricity tools here for you to read it is written by a forum member and a great guy to talk to and deal with and I think most people on this forum will agree with that,..his name is German Salazar and he does some writing for the Rifleman's Journal, I suggest you read it and as many other of his articles he has wrote that interests you.

I hope to talk to you soon Clod as I have enjoyed it for sure, cheers to you my new friend :)
Wayne.

Hi Wayne
Thanks for your answer Bozo,I'm glad to talk to you too;yes of course I know about German's articles, read quite a few on here, really decent piece of specialist and gentleman all together from what I see,I like his approach of things,I'll take the time to really get into the article you pointed at and that I hadn't stumbled over yet(thanks mate);I got the turner yesterday, quite a nice piece of tool but I really thought these things were more elaborate than what I handled for a while and tried to set,I'll give it a go next week when I come back from my hunt up North at my nephew's,because at this time I have no empty 7x64 shells to try it with...Their case holder is serious,I have a tip for you in case you might need it:to create a supple joint between your drill and the driver shaft(hex thing)you can cut a piece of those rubber slings we use on the spear guns(spear fishing gear),a 2" piece is enough, they have a hole in the middle where you can insert both shafts(one from the drill, one from the power adaptor) snuggly(just my 2 cent piece,as you say)..I'll let you know how I installed the whole thing once I'm done.Meanwhile, take care of yourself mate and goo'day.
