Forster 6x47L FL dies unavailable. Anybody tried the new Redding die?

Spoke with Trish at Forster. She said that they will not start producing 6x47L FL sizer dies again for "another couple of months". I looked everywhere, and NOBODY has them in stock. .,after waiting 3 weeks on Sinclair's "week and a half" back order)

Has anybody tried the new Redding full length 6x47l sizer dies, part # RD-91489 ? I'd like to get this 22x47L project going, but need to first get some dies to make up some cartridges with which to base a reamer on. Sizing the 6.5x47 case down to the 6x47L is the first step.

Anybody got a good Forster 6x47FL die to sell me?

I'd appreciate it if anyone who does have a Forster die to sell me or knows a source, would kindly Email me or PM me direct so it doesn't get bought out from underneath me. I think it's only right that if I placed this thread, I should get first crack at it. Thanks.

I have been told by Redding and Sinclair, and read on other threads if I am resizing brass, I shouldn't attempt to use an "s" die.It often doesn't size the full length of the neck, and causes donuts or bulges that don't allow the case to chamber.

It might work for you and others, and there's probably a number of alternate ways I could try. But, I don't have any other dies on hand, and so if I have to go out of my way to purchase dies, it might as well be for the proper 6x47L die.

Thanks.

DRS, thanks for that recommendation.

John at the GUNSTOP.COM did have one 6x47L Forster die in stock which is on its way to me now. I was amazed at the inventory that John tries to keep on hand. He is very friendly and helpful too.

He would do well to try to see if he could get his business name to come up on the internet searches when somebody like me enters "reloading supplies", "reloading dies", "Forster dies", "Redding dies" etc. My AOL browser provides no mention of his business, and I think he would do much more business if people only knew about him.

Thanks again.

Your welcome. Glad he had what you needed. John is a great guy to deal with. Gunstop is where I get all my dies. If John don't have what you need he can usually get it in a few days.
