If properly chambered with a 'crush fit' on the neck/shoulder junction jamming bullets is not necessary forming AI cartridges.

your 100% correct, talk of jamming bullets,lubing cases not needed if properly chambered.

By the time I would be happy with my tune for new brass, I wouldn't need to have a tune for new brass.

In most cases that is probably the case. I need 400+ pieces for a national.

Load and shoot for whatever purpose you want to use the rifle. Why waste barrel life fire forming solely for the purpose of fire forming?

I got a 6 BRA last winter. It shot great fire forming at my first 600 yard IBS match (the trigger actuator still needs work though).
I found that Federal primers (softer cups than CCI) and .010-.020 bullet jamb ensured 100% firing. I started with CCI 450 and .020 jump and had about 5% missfires with good primer hits. Don't know if its a brass vs chamber length issue, but I know the solution now, so no issue.
