Forming 6bra brass.

What is everone doing? can you form your own with a die? is it better to hydro form? can Injust fire form it?

This wont be a f class or br rifle bit a prs rifle.

I'd put an empty in and see if it had to be bumped any.
I'd also say shoot it normally. No need to waste the ammo ....
However, I had a ff barrel and did the cream of wheat thing.
Super dirty but fun to experience ..

Good point. My bolt close was just a bit too stiff for my liking. Oh and I was jammed .015 as well. No fail to fires.

I was thinking of getting a barrel list to fireform with. I have 1000 cases and with the cost of of hydroforming, it would be cheaper in the long run

If I were doing a 1000 cases I'd definitely FF with some cheap bullets like Nosler CC's in a dedicated FF barrel or just FF in the match. I sent you a PM

I fire formed mine and as long as I used any primer other than CCI 450’s everything went perfectly. I had around a 50% FTF with the 450’s

Yeah I used 400's also. Actually I used some old wolf primers last time ...a pita to seat ....

450 primers, 29.6 grains of h4895 and 105 hybrids seated off the lands. Back them off in .003" increments until it shoots one little hole at 200 yards. Then go shoot the rest in a match for fun. Or in my case you may still win. Lol. Load a few extra shells in case of a couple FTF, you need good crush with the thicker cupped primers.

This has worked well for me in 3 of my barrels forming cases. 29.8 gave me a little bit of bolt lift, so maybe shoot one or two into a stump to make sure you're ok before you load a bunch. I have a little more freebore than most, and my numbers are usually a tenth higher on powder. So maybe back off a tenth to start. 29.6 gr of H4895 worked better forming cases for me than 30 gr of varget. They all worked with formed cases.
