Hydro forming 6 Dasher brass?

Phil

Gold $$ Contributor
I have a hydro form die and have just begun to fool around with it..

I have been able to get consistent results with my brass forming to a finished length of 1.543.

I was wondering what others have had for results, using the hydro forming dies, and were you able to stretch your brass through firing it????

What length were you able to get to with your brass after wet forming and first firing???

Jim,

I was under the impression that Lapua annealed them at the factory.....

Why would i need to do it again???

Phil.

Phil, Never assume anything, you see how much the neck tension varies you would not say that. It takes a lot of work to make them acceptable to shoot in a match. Short brass will work, but not for me. I do get short ones and i use them for fowlers, and they are 1.548. i shot them 20 times or more and they never got any longer.... jim

To the annealer we go then...............

Jim,

Are the "short" ones(1.548) the blue box or the Gold box brass???

Phil.

Phil, This is all about Blue Box, check the other thread on flash holes. A lot of info. on BB. cases there... jim
