For the guys that pre-bore as much of the chamber as possible....

I read a lot about a curved or crooked bore and getting it dialed in correctly.

I received a new 338 barrel a couple of days ago and unpackaged and cleaned it today. I have a 330+ pin gauge, it measures .3302”. I was curious if the barrel bore would be tight past the one inch you are supposed to cut off. I can put the pin in the barrel, it fits snug, and it will slowly slide out the other end. It doesn’t seem like the bore could have many curves if a 2 inch long pin that fits snug will slide through it.

Is this normal or did I get a straighter than average barrel?

Some are pretty damn straight. Some are out 100 thou on a 30 inch barrel. I can kinda guess what brand you had but I don't think it matters.

I know I should know some of it. It would solve a lot of problems in the shop for sure.
Get a copy of the machinists ready reference. I use it all the time for trig. It has a great section on figuring lengths and angles anyone can understand. It's all the possible formulas and anything u need for that. Makes it super simple. 25 bucks or so on ebay. Mine is the 8th addition.
