Hi,
I am returning to rifles after a,v)long gap, and am heading for a 6.5x55 for range & hunt use. I will also be re-starting to reload. In re-calibrating my grey cells there is one thing that puzzles me -
I can cope with "heavy / light for calibre weight bullets" but
what is the ideal "for calibre" bullet weight,6.5) ??
I vaguely remember a Gale McMillan article with a list and a Jon Sundra article mentionning 'ideal' as being X% of a heavy spitzer: but I cannot now find the references,a Senior moment).
Is there a formula, and does it matter that this round was originally designed around a 160 gn military bullet?
I have answered most of my questions, and quite a few more that I did not know I had, by browsing this site, but this one has survived.
many thanks in advance for more enlightenment.
