Foaming bore cleaner?

I'm sorry to be the one to disagree, but if you have a bore scope and can see if it cleans or not. I can tell you it's a waist of time. witches brew and butches bore shine is all I will use... just my opinion
Hey all opinions are welcome.. I need to find something to clean my ar15 barrels with, I will have to see if I can find one of those products local.. Hoppies 9 does nothing for copper removal for me.. I will look at cabelas next time I go for something.. I live in a small town with nothing for decent gun stores..

I'm a recent convert to Bore Tech CU+2 for copper removal.

First I clean with Shooter's Choice using brass brush as I've done for years. This does a good job of removing carbon fouling and some copper fouling. I dry patch then use the Bore Tech copper remover to remove any remaining copper. I was impressed with the job it does on copper.

I have about a dozen and a half various cleaners. I figured I would start using them and then discarding the empties. I have a bolt action Savage .223.

I used Outer's Foam while following instructions. When patching out, I had powder residue and some nice blue patches. I repeated with same results and then patched dry.. I THEN used Bore Tech Cu2 dedicated cleaner. Brilliant blue-green patches. Repeated the regimen per instructions and patches finally clean and white.

There were no false readings since I use aluminium jags.

On the advise of others on this site and from my trip to the 1,000 yard benchrest school held by the Williamsport Benchrest Club, I have an array of quite expensive cleaning materials, these are the only ones I use on my Benchrest and Long Range guns. I did switch over to the foaming bore cleaner for a while and though it worked fine for my shotguns, as one other poster said, there was no pressure left to foam it into a barrel about halfway through the contents of the bottle. So for the shotguns I now have the new Hoppes in a spray bottle and spray both ends of my shotgun barrels before dipping a brush into a bottle of Hoppe's and scrubbing the bores. One thing I did learn from what I was taught about cleaning from the guys here, was that I do then clean my brushes in Brake Cleaner in order to decontaminate the bronze brushes for the shotguns and stop the decay of them from the harsher cleaners I use on my rifles.

Looks like m-pro 7 copper remover is what I need. Now to see if I can find some...

The issue I have with it is that it is not ammonia based, and you have no blue colour on the patch to let you know whether you still have copper in the barrel or not. I have no fear at all with putting ammonia in my barrel, and it works.

Hoppe's No. 9 does an excellent job on carbon and lead fouling. I use it exclusively on my 22 rimfire revolvers and centerfire revolvers that I shoot lead bullets in.

Since I discovered Bore Tech Cu+2 for copper removal I'm considering abandoning Shooter's Choice and going back to Hoppes for my center fire rifles (jacket bullets) for carbon removal then finishing with CU+2 for the copper. My wife is giving me a lot of grief about the smell of Shooter's Choice especially in the winter. I clean in the basement and the furnace seems to pick up the odor and blow it up stairs. :(

The only reason I don't switch to Bore Tech Eliminator is that I still believe in using a brass brush as part of the carbon removing process and you can't do that with Eliminator because of the copper removing element it contains; so I was told. Any comments welcome.

I can get sweets 7.62 local ,any advice on it? Does it remover copper well?

According to that article on cleaning product tests it is moderate at removing copper. The sample patch displayed for it, shows blue, so it must contain ammonia. It gets a good reputation, but I have not personally used it. I find Barnes CR-10 to work well for copper.
