flying to dallas, tsa approved case???

I am taking a Browning O/U with me - it is in the Browning hard case which has three latches with two having key locks in them, the gun is disassembled.

is this in your experience acceptable for TSA.

Good luck. After hearing all the horror stories, I ship to a "close LGS" and pick it up, there. Costs more but I have a friend at the airport and if you heard his stories, you wouldn't pack with the airlines.

I'm thinking it would be less hassle and cheaper to use FedEx if you are staying with friends or family. Shipping to yourself no FFL is required. Airlines will probably charge you $50 each way to put it in your baggage.

What he said. Shippin gis about $40 via Fedex each way, insured.

Yes unloaded obviously. Plan about 15-20 minutes extra

When I went to Canada hunting I had a thick aluminum case . When I got back home it looked like someone had hit it with a fork lift. What ever case you buy when you check it in duct tape the locks shut with several wraps. Good luck and insure it. Larry

If you want to lock it then you have to use a tsa lock so plan for that. Otherwise youll have to leave it unlocked for the boys to check out. Found that out the hard way. 4 different flights to newfoundland from arkansas and luckily it was untouched. Rigged up a tsa lock and hasp for the return trip.
