Flattened primers

what I call a flat primer is when you knock it out and a flea can sit under the porch and read the paper..mushroomed out scary times..I have about 6 of those where my little 5-10 beam was rubbing against a book I didn't see and put about 5 more grs of powder in my 65284...I got lucky I guess

I wouldn't call that a problem unless the "flattened" primers were accompanied by noticeable hard bolt lift. You could be using a soft cup primer. Try a CCI BR2. What I would call flat is no rounding of the primer left, just a straight across levelness from case head across primer.

Did you change powder lots? Did you change seating depth or neck tension? Did you change bullets to ones with longer bearing surface? Lots of things affect pressure. Go to a NBRSA or IBS group match where the predominant cartridge is the 6 PPC. You will have ample opportunity to see flattened primers!
