Can anyone recommend a few company that make flat base match bullets? Wanting 150 grain , my gun dont like the 155 SMK .iv been thinking about trying 150 grain nosler ballistic tip ..it worked great in my other rifle

What are the details of the rifle? Chamber? Twist? Powder? Brass? And which 155s did you try? (2155 or #2156)

What are you looking to do with the rifle and load?

Did you try any other 155 class bullets?

That being said I have had good luck with the ballistic tips. But i have not tried to make real tiny groups with them.

The majority of Nosler bullets are a boat tail bullet to some degree, I use the Hornady and Sierra 150 grain flat base bullets in my 30-06 and M1 Garand.

I don't think you will find a 150 grain flat base bullet labeled match grade.

John Wayne didn't use boat tail bullets in his M1 and he killed half the Japs in the Pacific. ::)

Its a 308 , 1 in 12 twist. I use a lot of RL15 , IMR 4895 and varget when i can find it. Most of my brass i have is hornady match . The SMK i tried was the classic .

Aren't the 150 Nosler a bt design? Any reason you want a flat base?

In theory the FB bullets are more accurate.

I'm aware of that theory, but it didn't seem to jive with the quality of bullet he was looking at. The bib I can understand, but going to a flat base in a hunting bullet and expecting more accuracy than a bt match bullet is a little optimistic to say the least.
