I've wondered how they factor in the issue regarding smaller flash holes in certain brass cases (e.g. Lapua brass)

I had three other brands and they each had some good points. I bought a complete set of 21st flash hole deburring tools to cover all the various calibers I reload. The sleeves for the various calibers are reasonably priced. After using them for one season I sold all other brands.

Is it just easier to use, more consistent, quality?

I have a Lyman tool but you have to trim to same length before using. And it was somewhat unclear exactly how to set it up

I also have a complete set of these tools. No problems here. They are easily inserted into the case making it easy to find the flash hole. You can put these tools in a hand drill, lathe or drill press and knock out a hole bunch at a time. I have done thousands of cases and they are still sharp.

I was wandering too as there are about 5 our so told to do the job. Guess about like everything else our our brand preference and maybe just slightly different designs........?

The 21st bushing aligns you to the flash hole as soon as you enter the neck, it has a full length bushing for each caliber. It never misses the flash hole. The cutting head stops cutting at the proper depth just like the K&M. The case length is irrelevant. It combines the best of all the designs I have seen. This is not brand preference. This is practical ease of use and accuracy. I am all about making everything as dummy proof as possible.

Get a Sinclair. Good reliable repeatable tool . Their primer pocket uniformer is one of the best tools for reloading. Period.

I think you may have missed the point of this thread, they are talking flash hole deburring, not primer pocket uniforming. I would agree that the Sinclair PP uniformers are great. I am not overly enamored with their flash hole deburring tool. I like the sounds of the 21st Century flash hole debur tools. Only downside is needing several of them.
