Flash hole/primer pocket ?

Just getting into reloading for.223/AR15. When prepping my brass:
Why do you deburr the flash hole?

Is this done from the inside of the case or from primer pocket?

What is the reason for cleaning the primer pocket if it's not dirty? Is there a reason I'm not understanding?

Must you do this after every firing?

Thanks

You de-burr the flash hole from the inside of the brass. This is done to remove the jagged edge that is left when the factory punches out the flash hole. This jagged edge will effect the flame of the primer. I use the flash hole de-burring tool that RCBS sells. You will also need the proper case pilot for the flash hole de-burring tool. You can find Thea's tools at www.midwayusa.com;)

palerider, the primer pockets only have to be uniformed one time if you decide to do it.,some guys don't) In my opinion, the primer pockets need to be cleaned before a new primer is seated. I have read articles that say it does not matter. You will have to decide what you believe. Thanks, Bill

so if i understand correctly there is 2 tools for the primer pocket. One to clean and Second to Uniform?

What seems to be the best tool to clean the pockets? Thats what i'm after.

Nope. You can use the same tool for cleaning that you use to uniform with. The two that I like best are K & M and Sinclair's. Ken is a very knowledgable and a fine guy to do business with at K & M. He sells a lot of BR handloading equipment. Sinclair is also a good company to deal with. Bill
