Thanks, but I am looking for one that indexes on the case head, not case mouth. Something like Ron Hohen used to make.

Yeah, there's a market niche out there for something like what you describe, as long as it can be engineered to properly index case after case without too much attention paid to brass chips affecting the indexing scheme.

Should be cartridge "agnostic" too to widen the appeal among shooters using a wide variety of cartridge designs.

If you're at all handy you may be able to work out a modification of the tools already available by cutting a small length of brass tubing that then would be super-glued to the tool shaft to serve as a makeshift depth stop off the inside of the case head.

The products Sinclair International markets may be what you're looking for:

- or similar tools ( at least for .080" flash holes) from Redding:

That particular tool I have in my possession. I want something that indexes on the head from the outside of the case. The flash hole reamer made by Sinclair is similar to my wants. Thanks for your help.

So you're looking for a reamer that need not be inserted into a case, but works by entering from the primer pocket? Not a flash hole chamfering tool but something to clean up the hole from the back?

Again, Sinclair has one for .081" flash holes in large primer cases:

- and a similar device for .060" flash holes in PPC, BR and 6.5x47 cases:

I mis-read your original post....

In my opinion, a pin vise with an .057-.060 bit is the best tool for deburring BR sized flash holes. You really don't need to ream them out. Less is more.

Most of the reaming tools go 4-5 thous oversize, and remove more brass than is needed/desireable.

Ya know?,,Just an after thought,,But I thought the function of "de-burring" a case,,was to remove the burr at the flash hole inside the case left from the manufacturing process of punching or drilling the flash hole from the case head side??

How can indexing from the outside case head side, remove a burr from the inside ? ???

Guess it depends on just how bad the burr might be. I've had cases from popular manufacturers with burrs that don't encroach on the flash hole at all, but viewed with a borescope may project as much as .030" or more up from the case web. Hardly ever are these symmetrical either, but sometimes they can completely surround the flash hole. Such a tool as JRA is looking for won't help with these.

A couple of weeks ago I was making up a new batch of cases from another, less well-known brand and at least 15% of the flash holes wouldn't allow a decapping pin to pass thru, the burr was so bad! I had to use a 1/16" drill to remove that obstruction before my chamfering & uniforming tool would work.

It's my normal practice when making up cases from new to use an internal, neck-indexing tool to chamfer flash holes slightly once I've trimmed a batch of cases to the same length. Only have to do it once.

I think K&M makes what you are looking for. It goes inside the neck and is held concentric with the neck with an angled cone and then cuts/reams/deburrs the flash hole till a stop hits the base of the shell. works incredibly well and ou can chuck it up into a slow-speed cordless and do a hundred in no time. but as mentioned it does open up the holes somewhat but i heard he will make youwhatever diameter cutter you like?
