Flare at End of the Brass Neck

Sounds like sound advice. I might give that a try. I own a cheap USC but I've heard that there are major differences in USC from cheapies and a good one. I've seen some commercial cleaners on FB before. Might keep an eye out for one in the future.
I am a cheap rascal...lol
Comes from my profession. I will always look for the most economical way to do something.
That being said, the Central Machinery Ultra Sonic Cleaner does a good job from HF.
Get the big one with the valve on the side to change the cleaner.
About 10 to 15 minutes with any brass cleaner or some Dawn and Lemmie Shine...works great.
Rinse well and let dry.
Works for me.

If you zoom in on the brass pic you can easily see the flare. The pic turned out really good to show the flare. Of course this is one of the worst of the bunch.
The bullet is catching on the edge of the case mouth when seating,be very carefull seating, when you feel the bullet start to engagement in the case, stop and rotate about half a turn and finish the seating.I would also polish the case mouth’s with a wad of steel wool after sizing and trimming.

I just had to chase down a similar issue. After sizing and using expander mandrels I was wet tumbling too long, no longer use pins, and it was causing my necks to roll inwards. The necks would not fit over the pilot of the Henderson powered trimmer. So I cut down the time of tumbling just enough to remove the lube. I then ran into an opposite problem with Henderson trimmer causing the case mouth to flare. The outside cutter wasn’t adjusted correctly and wasn’t hitting the case mouth rim. Really sucks to find your case mouth flared when competing in a match.

I went through this same thing as many have mentioned with the ss pins causing a flare, and I backed my time down to 30 mins and my problem was solved. I anneal every time with the AMP and still use the pins after firing only on a tight neck chamber. I wipe each cartridge after sizing to remove the lube. No issues in thousands of rounds since.

I totally moved away from wet tumbling. I now use a couple of Dillon vibrators. I'm sure their called something else but doesn't change that fact that they vibrate. My flaring issues disappeared right away. I haven't had any issues since. I did like how clean my brass used to be when using water and SS pins but pretty doesn't win matches. I don't own a microscope but would have been interesting to see some of my old brass under a microscope.
