Fixing the Supply Problem

The current situation as to the supply of reloading components was created by COVID. Then it was enhanced by hoarding. This resulted in supply shortages and higher prices. Price gouging pushed the prices even higher. How do we fix this?

The quickest way to fix this is to reduce demand. Don't buy more than what you need. Stockpiling components only causes prices to go even higher. Supply is not going to increase. Only the consumer of the components can fix the problem.

Brilliantly stated. Now tell me what you are going to do when you walk into your local gun store and they have your Federal 205M’s for $70 a brick and Varget at $33 per pound in stock, what are you going to do? Not buy it because you have enough at home? Or buy it, knowing the price is really good considering the state of the market and you can certainly use it in the future??

I’m pretty sure I know what most of us would do, likely you included.

IMHO...........this is more about people preparing for what they see as a government that is increasingly trying everything it can to disarm the populace.

These shortages didn't begin in earnest until this administration came into power under nefarious election conditions. The majority on the political right think the election was stolen....even if it were "legally stolen".......stolen none the less.

While there is a certain degree of people that still haven't caught on or don't believe our government is turning to socialism/communism, there are many, many more that do and are making sure they have the means to do something about it when the time comes.

The reason I say this, is not only are the components that most target shooters and such in short supply.........ALL ammo and components are in short supply. Especially "dooms day" type ammo.

A wise decision IMHO......

While we worry about our next target match, the rest of the population is worrying about staying free and protecting their belongings and families. While conditions are getting better due to manufacturers increasing production, you also have the government buying huge sums of ammo for their purposes........whatever that may be. I have my suspicions.

While over seas, all European nations are also preparing for a WWIII scenario that looks like it's headed their way. World wide demand has totally stripped all supplies from every manufacturer in ever country...........not just here.

Just my opinion on all this. I think the SHTF scenario is not far off no matter how the future elections turn out. If Republicans win...the left will go berserk..........much worse than the so called George Floyd riots (SHTF). If the left wins, it will continue to become more oppressive (from our point of view) until something snaps..........then SHTF again. It's coming either way IMHO..........

That's why everyone is "hoarding" more that than any other reason - IMO.......WISE DECISION - IMHO.

Excellent question . My response is somewhat reasonable . If I had what I would consider a year , to year and a half supply of powder and primers , bullets on hand , and there were 8 - 1lb bottles available , I may take at most one . Two ; if my instincts said to . Same with primers . Add some , but don't be a glutton , because some guy out there may be down to his last hundred . And that Guy might be the one who could save your life someday . Kind of like ; "How rich to you have to be" to be rich ? Our society seems to be working over-time towards stupid .

IMHO means Ima Mild Hearted Oldster? Ima Mean Heartbreaking Oldster?
I don’t understand!
Solid. I love when people send me texts with little emoji’s, I say, “I don’t know what the hell that means…lol”

EVERYTHING is in short supply, due to a number of reasons. Today the politicians are the cause primarily because people who worked pre-covid have not returned to work, because they are satisfied to live off of the govt teat. Retired, I still have close contact with a number of manufacturers and they cannot get help vs before; you see this every where you go. Labor participation rate + unemployment rate = 70%; but the US has not been much better for many years.
