^^^^^Maybe I'm missing it but I don't see a chip and I have to wonder how one would happen there. Looks to me like a superficial mark of some kind and the magnification is making it look like more than it is. I'd pull the bbl and inspect it. Maybe chuck it up and give it a light polish with 320 or so on a dowel. I bet it goes away fast.
Well, I stand corrected I suppose but those are definitely some strange looking marks and I still don't see anything in your chamber that resembles those marks being left on you brass. Of course, if the marks are dents in the brass rather than raised places, then something is raised in the chamber rather than chipped. Hell, I'm even more confused after seeing your brass. Lol! I assume all your cases have those same marks??Thank you all for your input.
The reason I believe it is a chip, is it leaves marks on the brass. I was chambered on a CNC. The guy has done quite a few chambers but isn't full time.
Both interesting and strange for sure. If ya had the reamer for it, ya might get the raised places out by just turning the reamer by hand just enough to remove the high spots or whatever is making the dents in the cases. Normally I'd say there's something in the chamber but those marks are weird and I got no sure answers as to how they got there or how the chamber got raised metal in that pattern. I'm curious how it turns out. Worst case is a setback though, more than likely.Yes the dents are on all. I think he has fired 50 rounds on this barrel.
That pic doesn't match what you show in the pic of the chamber. CuriousThank you all for your input.

Never seen this one before. First thought was possibly a miniscule chip out of a flute at the neck/shoulder junction of the reamer, but that would be cleaned up by the other flutes. No clue how that raised pattern in steel could be created by a rotating reamer. Can your borescope do right-angle imaging rather than straight-on? It should be obvious if you can get a right-angle view and spin the barrel around it at the shoulder.Yes the dents are on all.
I think you’re on to something. You can see a mark along the body, across the body/shoulder junction, then skipping down the shoulder.I can’t tell anything from either pics, but I’ve seen similar marks caused by the fired case being pushed hard by the ejector into a sharp or burred inside front edge of the ejection port or the top front edge of the lug raceway.
Just a thought
This rifle was chambered a few days ago. 50 new cases were fireformed in this chamber. There are no split necks, and the cases didn't have any marks on them before fireing. That looks like a gas cut from a split neck to me. It might clean up without increasing headspace too much. The mark shown on the brass is not from the chamber. WH
