First time with SW MP 9mm

I've been wanting a MP 9mm so I borrowed my brothers. I like the way it feels and the recoil is softer than my BHP with same ammo. I couldn't hit squat! I can put rounds into 4-6 inches at 50 feet with my 1911, I was grouping good with my BHP but the MP?

I dry fired it a lot, sights hardly moved when the trigger broke but in live fire it would not group. Focus on the front sight good trigger press everything! Maybe I won't buy one now and get a 9mm 1911. It did have some FTF issues also. I'll have my brother run rounds through it and if it continues to FTF back to SW. Maybe an Apex trigger would help. Stock trigger is not great but not terrible.

Oh, dumba$$ me I loaded .40 into my 1911 mags, chambered a round and the whole cartridge came flying out the barrel of my .45 1911! I had Remington .40 and .45 boxes and grabbed the wrong box! The MP was vexing me and I wasn't looking at the boxes LIKE I should haveo_O. Rant off.;)

Take a look at the SIG P365XL. I love the one I have and I can shoot it better than my 1911. It's not the smallest, but it is big enough to get a full grip on, is already prepared for a red dot, and holds 13 rounds. I've even dusted a couple of armadillos with mine.

I've picked one one and it does feel nice, the 13 rounds beats what the SW shield will hold.

I've got a 2.0 9mm 5" and absolutely love it, never have had any FTF, factory nor reloads....and it shoots great!

I would love to get me a 1911/2011 9mm though.

Another vote for Sig 365XL. Small, narrow, 13 round and easy to shoot. I will say if you don’t have a lot of handgun shooting experience, start close. 7 yards until you are consistent, then 10, and so on.
