A little background is in order. I've always considered myself an accuracy minded shooter and typically I used to be satisfied with my 22-250 for both informal targets and varmints. However, after reading this forum I became aware there was more to be had. In October of 2011 I decided to build a 6BR on a Savage action with a 26" 8 twist Criterion barrel. On Sunday I shot my first 1000 yard F class match and had an absolute ball. Although my scores are poor relative to what the talented members of the forum are capable of, I was still satisfied with my 362-3x total and my first string 187-2x. Since I don't yet have a rest I made all shots from a Harris bi-pod and a rear bag. I was shooting 105 A-Max, 30g Varget, Lapua brass, Wolf 223 primers and .0015 tension. Velocity was right at 2785 with an SD of 8. At the recommendation of the forum I ordered and used a Harrell's die for sizing. I was also using an 8-32x Sightron I bought on the forum.
I want to thank everyone for helping me get started and achieving some success early on. Even if you don't realize it there are shooters like me out there reading and learning every day and ultimately benefiting from your knowledge. This project wouldn't have come together without this forum.
I'm excited to learn more and build my shooting/wind skills. Oh, one more thing, I absolutely love the 6BR!
Thanks again,
Jeff
