First reloading room

I like what you did. But I have to agree with the other guys. Ten years from now you will be cluttered and the walls will look like poop unless you finish them now. Take the $50 it/ll cost for tape and mud and white ceiling paint and trust us on this one. Toss in another $50 and put some paint or treatment on the floor...one color, so your lost and dropped stuff can be found and swept up easily.

Seal the floor with epoxy and paint the walls...Do it all now or you will regret it later when you have to tear it
all down to Do it anyway later....ask me how I know.....Start with a good plan, cause you have
a good location....and rewire for a ton more outlets.....Just a suggestion from a fellow reloader.
It will be awesome when your done.

Have two windows in our loading room,here's one of them. The trim(casing) has been leaning in one corner of the room for so long it is downright embarrassing.

Point being exactly what folks are suggesting above. Do the finishing before the room gets too far along!!! I'm gonna nail the trim up in mine over this weekend if nothing else gets done. There's even airlines in there....sheesh.

3 lube sizers on left,aren't really enough but they'll do.
What's not so noticeable is all the one off cast bullet tooling(not moulds),that we make.

If you think that's anything special,our shop is flat out disgustingly overwhelming,in a good way.

I agree, do it right the first time! If you don’t, you’ll never do it! I wish I’d have put in a drop ceiling, sheet rocked and painted white! The floor I REALLY wish I’d have taken care of. Do it right!

I’m finally working towards my first reloading room. I purchased my first house in April and did a ton of renovations on it and have finally made the time to build a reloading room. Over the past few years of getting into shootings I basically traveled an hour each way to use my parents house. I consolidated everything down to only shooting 6br and for that I think this space works out perfect. Not pictured is a large storage shelf in the corner with as much storage as I need. Let’s hope this makes shooting a little easier now.

I considered finishing the room and putting down vinal planks but can’t justify the cost for a gun room.

You could use some more screws on the butt joints you missed a run of screws on the lower left on the back wall. I’m sorry I’ve been in the drywall business for over 30 years I can’t help myself where are you located I could help you with finishing the drywall but probably not near me

As recommended by others properly finish the room now by sealing the floors and finish the sheetrock.

Infact, I would go as far as taking random sheetrock off to make sure the ceiling and the walls are insulated. And while the sheetroc is off add some receptacles and/or lights.

One suggestion that I have is to have your cleaning cradle on a smaller table that is in the middle of the room. Makes it a whole lot easier to work on rifles when you can walk on both sides.

That is a great idea,Mine rolls on casters that are lockable so the table doesn’t move around when I’m cleaning my rifles

Here’s my recommendation. They are around 10 bucks at Home Depot. A dehumidifier will be the next purchase if you don’t have one yet.

And you cannot see it but little shelf on the side holds cleaning supplies when rifles are being cleaned and I drilled holes in the shelf to hang my cleaning rods from

I've designed and built dozens of spaces for reloading from small apartment closets to full blown 40x60 research and manufacturing spaces.

I'm right in the middle of revamping and enlarging my personal space currently. Finished it will be 32x36 divided in half with a wall. This allows for a small equipment bay for small machines and the other for reloading benches, components, cleaning cart and project racks. The other part of the building is a full machine shop.

I couldn’t make myself go to bed at night if I had that room!

I don't sleep much...
