First reloading room

I’m finally working towards my first reloading room. I purchased my first house in April and did a ton of renovations on it and have finally made the time to build a reloading room. Over the past few years of getting into shootings I basically traveled an hour each way to use my parents house. I consolidated everything down to only shooting 6br and for that I think this space works out perfect. Not pictured is a large storage shelf in the corner with as much storage as I need. Let’s hope this makes shooting a little easier now.

I considered finishing the room and putting down vinal planks but can’t justify the cost for a gun room.

Yes it’s in the basement, they finished the basement prior to me buying the house but left this as a work shop. I’ll look into sealing the floor

If you ever plan on taping or painting the room, do it now. The humidity spike lasts > a week, much worse in an enclosed space.
Way easier to tackle now than when all your equipment is in place.

I used to use a product called Decoseal. It’s a clear concrete sealer you can spray on with a garden sprayer. Cheap and it works. I think it looks good, just as it is! I would suggest finding a cheap old steel desk and a wheeled office chair. Get into reloading sitting down to save your knees, feet and back.

There is still plenty more at my parents house. Thankfully they have more space than they will ever need and don’t mind me keeping some stuff there

I personally would paint the walls and ceiling white, to help with the lightning. Just can't have enough lighting in my opinion.

I sure would like a suggestion for an older concrete floor.
Are those 'open-vented' garage tiles a good option?

May I suggest that you use lag screws to bolt the frames of the two tables to the studs in the wall. If it is concrete, and the studs are too thin, lag them into the concrete. I place the bolts through the frame of the bench, just below the top.
When you pull on the press, that table will NOT move.

I understand trying to justifying additional costs but in reality you REALLY need to tape and finish those walls.

You lose a ton by skipping this step and you don't gain anything except a few dollars. Think long term, long run and do your best efforts now while you can easily. Taping can be handled by an amateur especially if you try a short course on a Saturday at Home Depot. Just remember to move everything out of the room before starting. The dust from the taping compound will find its way into all the cracks or spaces. Wet wiping afterwards cures this. But the end result will be a space which stays much cleaner after a good coat of white paint. Have a dehumidifier handy for the long haul.

Skip the vinyl plank look and spray coat your floor while all the stuff is out of the room. This will definitely minimize the dust from the shuffling around on the concrete floor. See above for a good suggestion. I use the epoxy finish which is usually gray and you add the speckles while it's still wet. It's more expensive but wears extremely well in shops. Leave out the speckles if you have a habit of dropping small parts and screws...

A small piece of heavy short nap carpet or foam pad under your work area will help prevent broken items when they hit the floor. If carpet small enough to shake out when you drop[ powder.

I would like to echo the recommendations for a dehumidifier. My basement is fully air conditioned and heated, but the humidity would really spike in the spring and fall when the ac or heat weren’t running. Now I keep my dehumidifier set on 45% and it runs all the time.

I wish I could put a pic up of my reloading mess. Yes it is cluttered with all good stuff. Its overflowing with books and other equipment but I manage.

Thats more reloading supplies than the last 5 gun shops i was in!
