First evolution complete

After being around reloading and competition shooting darn near my entire life I have completed my first set of hand loads by my self. I have had a lot of time working with my dad, but he was the brains of the operation. I want to thank those here who have provided me so much help and guidance. My first 150 rounds all went bang, and cycled perfectly. So many here have decades doing this, but I wanted you all to know that sharing your knowledge and time is a great value to me at least. Back to the bench to start the cycle again.

I plan on sharing my passion once some real competence is earned. I still made some rookie mistakes like dumping powder in the charge master with the drain open.

I'd venture to say most of us that have a CM are guilty of the same thing. Some multiple times. Glad to see you're figuring it all out, and having fun!

I bought all the tools to reload and a friend filled me in on all the steps and I was sure I could do it. I stuck the very first case in an old set of Hollywood 30-06 dies. Seems I wasn't told the step where you lube the cases. I put all the stuff away and it was 10 years till another friend sat me down and we reloaded side by side. Nothing like hands on help!!!!

This is not a rookie mistake. I’ve been at this for 25 years and leave that damn thing open every other time I use it.

Making mistakes is how we learn.
You show me someone that has never made a mistake, and I will show you someone that doesn't do anything.
Part of the enjoyment, is the learning process. Enjoy!

I consider mistakes as tuition, the price we pay while being self taught.

I am now using the charge master to load 9mm. It may be slow but there is zero chance for double charge or squib. The powder tight group I am using has a very small margin for error so I am lazer focused wheel loading. Powder, reset pan, install bullet and repeat. Correct over speed at this point.
