So quite a few years ago I bout a Savage target action for a pretty good deal. It sat in the safe for a few years and finally I put a 300 blackout barrel on it. It was a fun accuracy experiment but not really what I wanted. I had a heavy 224 1-7.7 barrel laying around and got in touch with Lee Gardner about putting together a 223ai. We decided to spec out a reamer from JGS so it would be good for 75amax. A few weeks later and the reamer was there. Lee got it all chambered and threaded and sent it up to me. The old camo stock wasn't looking right to me so I decided on a loud green. Fords "gotta have it green". Forming loads of Hornady 75hpbt over thrown charges of Cfe 223 are well under MOA and the little load work I've done so far with 80vlds over varget are showing quite a few groups in the .1-.2 range. It's a little different style of shooting for my; off a bench with a front rest. I thing I'm getting used to it though. I'm looking forward really seeing what this one can do! I like the caliber so much I'm having Lee chamber a barrel for a Rem700 repeater now on a 21" barrel for all around shooting. He's the final product of my first BR type rifle. I might have to build one or two more.
