BoreTech Eliminator - Wow!

I tried BoreTech Eliminator for the first time in my previously cleaned Krieger barrel on an AR-15. I used Hoppes #9 last time as I recall. I dipped a nylon brush in BoreTech, ran it through several times, and then a few patches also soaked in BoreTech. Good Lord, those patches were seriously green! After a 5 minute soak, I ran dry patches through, and on the fourth patch, it was quite clean. Never have I gotten this much copper out, this fast, nor have I ever had the patches be so green to start, and then go clean so quickly. Will see how it does on the barrel without the benefit of Hoppes cleaning it first, but BoreTech does seem to work quite well.

Just from my personal experience: This is not a product you want to get on your skin. It has the capability to penetrate human skin. Works great but use with caution. This is probably a good idea for all our barrel cleaning products.

Phil, Wipe Out Patch Out will do pretty much the same thing & is safer for both you & your rifle, just don't get it on wood stock. It will remove finish on wood stocks. Try it & see how you like it. I have used both & prefer the Wipe out product.

Also, when using Eliminator, use a tight-fitting bore guide that seals the action. And be sure to get all the solvent out of your gun. We have seen accelerated corrosion on small metal parts and trigger parts when a little eliminator leaked into the trigger area. I am very cautious with this stuff.

CU+2 is only for copper. Bore Tech is for copper and powder fouling
I just talked to a technician at Bore Tech and he said Bore Tech Eliminator works great for routine single step cleaning for both copper and carbon. For people who want to shoot a lot of rounds between cleanings (like me) the two step process of cleaning with Bore Tech C4 Carbon Remover first and then Cu+2 Copper Remover may be the way to go. Also the separate cleaning process may work better if you have a heavy build up of copper or carbon.
He also went over their Chameleon cleaner/polisher barrel Gel which sounds like a great product.

Any ever compared Sweet's 7.62 to Bore Tech Eliminator? Just curious. Also a 60/40 mixture of Shooter's Choice/Kroil works pretty good too for both carbon & copper fouling.

I use the Boretech C4 carbon cleaner. Might be a carbon cleaner, but it gets most copper out, too. I finish up with PatchOut.

Yep Eliminator is very strong, but a bit of a pain to work with. The big tube that comes with Wipe Out fits in the chamber and seals up well enough that I can pump it down the bore without it getting into the action. As soon as the foam comes out the muzzle it is already turning blue..

Used to use Sweets 7.62. Now have used Bore Tech Eliminator entirely for 6 years now. Very happy with Bore Tech Eliminator. ;D WD

That's what I needed to know.
