First bore scope view

I installed this Remington factory takeoff chrome moly 7mm-08 barrel on March 1st. this year. Since, it has fired 1447 rounds of the same load. Never overheated it with just my normal steel plinking routine. Decided to take a first time peek with the Teslong using the 7mm (.275 dia.) size mirror. 8.74 lbs. of N140 did this.

Based on past experience this barrel won't meet my accuracy needs and will need replacing at about 4500 shots or another 18 lbs. of N140.

Yes thats quite a bit of fire cracking but .308 sized cases are noted for being less kind on barrels because of the shallow neck angle and the amount of powder used per shot. As long as it shoots up to your needs great. No free lunch in this game! :)

I fired 50 shots each of 7-08 this morning from these two 700's and just finished cleaning them.

Another Rem. CM with 3340 shots fired, pic 2 and this stainless one with 5751 shots fired, pic 3. Both are still delivering excellent accuracy. Both rifles have had a steady diet of IMR 4064. I was smacking steel 300-500 meters in decent conditions.

I like the big pictures with that bore filling mirror.
