First blood with 6SLR - and the season is over

Well, the season wasn't officially over, when I got to PA - but it is now - we're in Indiana and headed west.
I shot 5 for the fairgrounds caretaker while we were in PA visiting m sister. And I got a chance at one at 1100+ yards in a recently baled neighboring field to the fairgrounds. I couldn't range the groundhog, but after ranging two round bales and a fence, I took an educated guess of 1100 yards, adjusted my come-up to 28.6 MOA, and touched off a shot. I saw the bullet splash 15 to 20 feet in front of the groundhog (windage was right on) and with the slope he was on, I felt .5 MOA more come-up just might nail him. So I sent another 105 AMax on its way. This time I didn't see the bullet splash but the 'hog ran about 20 feet and got a little nervous. Now I'm down to two loaded rounds. So I decided I should go back to scanning the fairgrounds. And I spotted one at 172 yards and shot it (#5). Another check on the 1100 yard 'hog and he was nowhere to be seen.
