firing pin spring removal tool?

Is this tool just a block theaded for the bolt to thead into on one end and a threaded rod on the other that hollow for the firing pin to go into?

Thinking of getting one for a borden action but ive heard they use a different thread than a remington.

I would also like to get something that would work for my 40x rimfire.

Yes, they do use a different thread. Remington appreciates the beautiful simplicity of a prime number (13). Borden does not use a prime number.

I like this brownells tool:

https://www.brownells.com/gunsmith-...action-firing-pin-removal-tool-prod24003.aspx

it clamps easily in a vise and allows me to put support under the cocking piece.

It has an insert that the bolt shroud threads into so it is easy to make an insert for any thread.
