Firing pin Fall

How much firing pin fall is too much and how much is too little? I am using BAT B 6mm br small rifle primers if that matters.

I would consider .220-.225 minimum. If you need more, BAT makes trigger hangers that will add .010, .020, or .030.

Unless your firing pin has moved since initial installation you shouldn't be at the stage of being concerned.

I'm sure you know that eliminating cock on close reduces it.

.240 is the number most often quoted for Rem700s. Others design their own. I've seen some new design bolts with .175...doesn't always work as well as hoped in my limited experience.

I find the PTG replacement bolts to be well designed in this respect...when you adjust cock on close, the remaining firing pin fall is .240.

It can be more difficult to adjust a remington bolt.
