I am fireforming some 6ppc's [150] And with the shortage and price of custom bullets would you fireform using a non competition bullet and powder, or use what you are going to shoot?

I have some H4198 that might work at 26 gr with some 68 grN.B. tips. Then switch to VV and a comp bullet ?

Ideas?

Thanks Link

Shoot a non-comp bullet and a miscellaneous powder.

You are forming cases, not shooting a match - there is no difference in the finished case.

I dont have any personal experience with this, so this is just a thought. If your fireforming loads will be as accurate or close to as accurate as your match loads (ve heard that fireforming for the 6BRX and Dasher can be quite accurate as well as fireforming the 6mmAR and 6AR40*T) then fireform your cases with your match bullets and powder at a match.

You can skip the bullets if you'd like. Load aprox 18gr of pistol powder (I use 231), stuff the neck full of toilet paper or wax (I use wax) and go shoot. WARNING! these loads are loud, not something you should consider doing in a basement or garage.

ISP t use your good powder. Don't use your bullets. Fill your your cases to a smidge (lol) below the neck with Bullseye then cap off with Playdough... Yes, Playdough! It completely comes out of the barrel and hurts nothing!

Loud as hell, but opens then up perfectly!
I laughed when I first heard this, but the man who taught me was an International champion several times.

Playdough and Bullseye! One pass with shooters choice and done!
