Fire Forming W/O Ejecter

Is there any need for fire forming New Lapua Brass without the ejecter installed in the bolt?
I was told that fire forming with the ejecter installed will make the brass form crooked! Is there any Truth to this?

Thanks in advance.

I fireform AI brass with bullets into the lands so I haven't seen that problem. Sounds kind of believable though if your headspace was off.

Kelbro has it right. Fireform with jammed bullets and you will be certain of good bolt face contact and case alignment. My match rifles don't have ejectors and I still do it that way.

So what would be the minimum jam lenght to form with?

I jam about .010-.015. I'm only looking to push the case back against the bolt face. It doesn't take much without an ejector. You might go for a little more with a plunger ejector. My fire forming is done with moderate loads. Remember to account for the pressure rise from jamming.
