fire forming question

Would H380 be a good powder to fire form 22-250 AI I have 100 rounds that I thinking about either shooting or pulling apart...thanks Caleb

The whole idea behind a true Ackley chamber is to be able to fire the parent cartridge in the AI chamber and get reasonable accuracy. I think you are ok as long as it isn't a load off the charts. And as long as it is a no turn neck, ask me how I discovered that one.

I Agree with Jon. H-380 is usually an excellent powder for the 22-250. A max charge for the parent case will yield about 150 FPS less velocity than the same charge in a fire formed case due to the energy absorbed by the case expansion (blowing out) process. I normally use a max charge for the parent case to fire form to AI. ....... If you're not absolutely sure of the powder charge in your loaded ammo, pull them all down and reload them. Better safe than sorry. To be sure your AI is properly chambered insert a cartridge in chamber and look for abrasion (bright spot) at the neck/shoulder junction after closing the bolt. The bright spot verifies you have a proper crush fit. You should also feel moderate resistance to bolt closing.
