Fire forming for 22 BR ??

What would be the best load for forming a 22 BR..just started with this case and could use some guiding..

Thanks for any help...

Gunsmoke: I don't do anything special for the first firing with new Lapua 6BR necked down to 22BR, just use my "standard" load. 28.5 grs. of H322 with the 53 gr. Sierra #1400, seated to touch, 205 primers. Even when firing my 6ppc with new Lapua 220 Russian reformed to 6ppc, it's the standard load that is used. Been doing it that way for over 12 yrs: works for me, and surprisingly have gotten some extremely small 5 shot groups with these "fireforming" loads. ;)

What else are you looking for? It does not take anything special to make a 22BR. All you do is neck down 6BR brass, load and shoot.

my 22 BR has a .251 neck so i had to turn necks before sizing to 22. even turning slightly onto the shoulder, i got a donut! the wilson neck reamer took care of it. the cases were a tight fit until fireformed...i prefer the COW method using hodgdon's clays powder and small pistol magnum primer. doing this i have noted unacceptable runout is almost always gone or very reduced, often becoming less after fired with a full load. my latest, and best to date, fireforming trick is to take a large bale of fire resistent home insulation(the stuff that is blown in the attic) cut a small hole in one end, insert a broom handle halfway and make a cavity, cover hole with strips of duct tape, cut a small slit. duct tape the opposite end also. insert the barrel half way and pull trigger...whhuuuppp. you can do this in your kitchen and the family in the den may not even notice! after 10-20 uses i smack the sides and ends to loosen the insulation. even 6.5-.284 fireforming is quiet. you won't believe how quiet this is. my ocd personality also has me coat my bore with a layer or RIG before ffing...cow does have salt in it. also noted, a full case of cow seem to form a cake at the body-neck juncture so i half it and fill with cotton.
if i can see you, i can touch you.BANG!

I'm sure the wife would love me fire forming in the living room. It may be safe, but that has bad idea written all over it.

I can see it now, "honey, the cats at the vet with an a$$ cheek full of cream of wheat". Thanks, but I'll pass.

Nothing special required for fire forming. My first loads were 30gr Varget and 80gr Amax bullets, all worked fine except velocity was much higher than I expected. The Amax's launched at over 3200fps so maybe I should have started at 29gr of Varget but absolutely zero problems with the new brass.
