Fiocchi large rifle primers??

Pretty well standard LRs akin to standard models like the CCI-200 and Fed210 giving similar ES values IME in cartridges like 308 Win. They may be just a hair on the 'large' side as they're a tight fit in new or newish Norma and Lapua pockets, even more so Peterson. No bad thing of course as the case-head expands and the pocket slackens. The cup seems to be pretty 'tough' too - they don't crater easily.

They're rare here in the UK and only seem to turn up fitfully. During the last great components shortage 10 or so years ago, a Northern English dealer managed to import a large consignment in lieu of the usual US products which is how I came to get them.

One thing to note is that they're packaged 150 to a tray and 1,500 to a box. I accidentally bought 50% more than I intended by saying "I'll have five boxes, please" thinking I was buying my usual 5,000.

when I was shooting a lot of competition pistol I was using the Fiocchi lead free primers. Never had a problem.

I bought a brick of large rifle primers a couple of months ago for my .243 and .308. I use a hand held priming tool and these were the tightest fitting primers I have ever encountered in around 45 years of reloading.
Some were tight. A lot were extremely tight, and some jammed as soon as they entered the pocket.

This was with a variety of brass from a lot of different manufacturers in both the .243 and .308 cases. I tried the same cases with CCI and Winchester primers and had no problems at all. I won't be using them anymore and am in communication with the folks at Fiocchi about what to do with the unused 1350 primers I don't trust.

Post #2 of this thread gives some minimum and maximum diameter measurements, I had saved it for the pocket’s depth.

Found them to be very consistent on the S/D side , but just a slight drop in velocity with my usual load and primer by about 12 to 15 FPS . Might want to look at that . Target didn't seem to notice though .

Send them to me if you don't want them lol.

I've used Fiocchi small pistol primers, and found them a tad tighter than mainstream US primers. Much better than the Unis/Ginex primers though. With Ginex, I've actually deformed cups trying to cram them into well-used brass. The Fiocchi's just took a tad more effort to seat, but went in without cup deformation. No ignition problems, but again, it was for pistol, so primer type doesn't have as much effect as something like BR rifle.

A buddy of mine wanted to go in on an order of Fiochi Primers. My logic is that I don't want to pay current prices for my favorite primers.... so I surely am not willing to pay these insane prices for anything else.

Now with the current election results, people may go back to not caring about guns and ammo like they do when a lunatic Dem is in office. And maybe prices will become reasonable soon.
