Finding an outdoor range near me

I am trying to locate a public outdoor rifle range in north Georgia. The internet is of very little help. If you know of one anywhere north of Atlanta, please reply here or send me an email. Thanks

Call your local gunshop's and they can tell you where.

The gunshops near me all have short indoor ranges and are reluctant to send me anywhere else. I'll keep pressing for a recommendation though.

Try the Chatuge Gun Club, they shoot on Forest Service land near Hiawassee.

hoooowa up there, where are you in north Ga -- there is a fantastic club, Cherokee Gun Club in Gainesville, ga, with all you may want, also north of Atlanta, there is the River Bend Gun club. both have web pages, check them out, Ellijay has a great range also, not sure of its range.

the Chattahoochee National Forest has ranges around, need to know your location.


in Ringold northwest just below Chattanooga there is a range.

Thanks for the responses. The wheretoshoot.org site is a great place to start and I have found a couple of options, none very close to me in Canton, GA. There are several an hour or so away, so it looks like I'll be driving a bit in the future.

Chatuge Gun club looks good but is almost 2 hours away.

River bend is private and pricey. The closest one to me. Great facility, though.

The only one in Elijay I see is indoor only.

Cherokee gun club is private and currently has a wait list.

Pickens County club also has a wait list.

Floyd County wildlife association is another option, though 90 minutes away.

Creekside firing range looks to be my best option. Anyone have any first hand knowledge of this facility?

Take a look at Elbert county gun club.(on line) Skeet, trap, sporting clays, long & short range rifle, pistol and archery. Nice folks no snobbery. reasonable dues. Memberships available, 1000 yd range available to paid members. Met two guys from Canton there last week one from Kennesaw. Maybe you could share a ride with them ???

If you have a smart phone you can download their "where to shoot" app. I used it last week while visiting the in-laws to find an excellent range after googling yielded mixed results.

Thanks gotcha. The Elbert county gun club looks very nice but is more than a 2 hour drive for me.
