I took my Remington XR100 204 to my Smith in '09 and was finally able to find time to pick it up --My fault not his-. I had it rechambered to 20 Practical. The gun shot very well as a "Stock" 204 and was hoping to not lose anything with the rechamber. I have 500 rounds of Dakota/Lapua brass is the main reason for the rechamber
Did get to shoot a little Sunday AM before the wind got too bad-Did not set up any flags- and it seems to shoot VERY well.
I shot BenchMark with 32,40 V Max and 39 Sierra all the 5 shot groups were less that 1/2" with 25-26.5 gr -- my only disappointment was the VERY SHORT throat. I talked to Dave Kiff and had him make me a "Minimum" spec reamer. I did not play with seating depth just loaded into the lands.
For those with 20 Practical experience are there any "tricks" as far as powders and seating depth -- I was using 7 1/2 Remingtons with necks "Cleaned up" and a .229 Bushing
Thanx,
Jim
