Finally found what I was looking for!

So your daughter was ALMOST 2 years old and you thought she might know what a watch was AND where it was? Silly boy!

What she knows scared me, even back then. She is now 19, in her first year of college and you can best believe she knows exactly what a Rolex is!!!! as well as what to do with one. The boy is now 12 and a certified "Advanced Open Water" diver...here he is at 120 ft. P2020616.JPGIMG_7041.JPG
When I was 12 I played out in the woods with sticks.....

Needless to say I AM impressed, ya done GOOD!

When my daughter was almost 2 my Rolex watch disappeared. I looked everywhere for about a week and someone said, "how do you know that little girl of yours didn't do something with it??" When I got home I asked her and she nodded yes. I then said, "show daddy where you put his watch..." She walked to the toilet and pointed down the bowl!!
I called a septic service guy and he said, "we'll find it if it made to the tank." $500.00 and a very nasty morning later it apparently "didn't make it"...so, he suggested I call a plumber with one of those camera snakes. $250.00 and a not as bad morning later it was not in the drain line that we could see and believe me we saw it all.
One month almost to the day I needed a reference book from my bookshelf and after having given up on the watch it fell off the top of the very book I needed when I pulled it from the shelf!!! What in gods name possessed that kid to put it there is as confounding as why she pointed to the toilet. She could barely walk and talk back then and later when asked about she says she doesn't remember anything.
That’s about the age my son was when he flushed a little Hot Wheel sized convertible with Big Bird aboard. Of course we only knew that Big Bird was a missing. The toilet flushed small loads ok, but a big load had to be plunger-encouraged. After getting tired of that I decided to really take the plunge and bought a wax seal and pulled the toilet. Eureka, there was Big Bird stuck in that restriction causing a traffic jam so to speak. I know you are wondering if I cleaned up Big Bird and gave him back to my son, and I can’t remember about cleaning him up, or about giving him back!

I have 3 large plastic bins that I put everything I will seldom use into. Tools, removed parts, etc. The bins are pretty full And I might need a couple more. At least the bins narrow down the search. LOL

You know...this is actually not a bad idea. I tried painting those chronically missing items I have blaze florescent orange once. Even that didn't help.

I'm good at throwing things in the garbage can, keys, cash, etc... I'm positive I threw 65 bucks in a trash can leaving a groc store getting rid of the receipt. I know for a fact while purging documents, I pitched the title to my 07 GMC. I've thrown my wallet away while getting loose trash out of the vehicle as I enter the garage.
Oh, and I lost my house keys and mail box key for 6 mos, wifey would ask if I got the mail, NO, your job. The next winter I grabbed a coat from my backseat and to my chagrin, there they were.

I thought I was the only one.

I had a problem finding rubber mallets in my welding shop. I had two but could never seem to find one when I needed it so I bought two more thinking with four I'd be able to find at least one. It worked but I still don't know where the other three are :(
I bought more tape measures for in my shop so I know there is at least 10 in there . I thought with this many I’d always be able to find one quickly. Silly Me

I just played with my stick

Several weeks ago I reloaded a box of 338's with 225 grain Hammer bullets. I'm getting ready for a trip this fall and I'm reloading practice rounds as well as the rounds I'll be taking with me. Anyway, the following morning I went down to my reloading room and couldn't find the box of 338 Federals that I loaded the day before. I literally spent a couple of hours tearing the room apart to no avail.

This morning I decided to reload a few hundred 9mm, I'd prepped the brass a few days ago. When I opened the box of Bert's bullets that have been sitting on my reloading bench for a few months I realized that the 9mm bullets had been used and inside the box was my batch of 338 Federals that I couldn't find. I've probably moved that box a half dozen times looking for the 338's. After not being able to find the cartridges I'd ordered new brass and another box of Hammer bullets and reloaded them. So now I've got two boxes of 338 Federals for the trip. It sucks getting old.

My oldest son (4-5 at the time) misplaced (he wouldn't admit it was lost) a toy or video game, he said "it's not lost, I just can't find it."
